Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards Announced

Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Cashieve Blair, Saint Peter's
Sr., Irvington, NJ, Irvington
 
Senior sprinter Cashieve Blair continued his dominant outdoor campaign, securing a pair of gold medals at the 2026 Outdoor Metropolitan Championships. Blair blazed to first place in the 400m, earning the first individual gold of the day in 47.00, finishing more than a second ahead of the field. The time ranks first in the MAAC by over half a second and second in the Metropolitan area. The senior then anchored the 4x400m relay team to victory, as the Peacocks finished nearly three seconds ahead of the field in 3:13.47, with Blair closing the race in a 46.78 split. Blair has now tallied four gold medals across his last four events to open the outdoor season.
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Jiles Addison, Iona
Sr., New Windsor, NY, Cornwall High School
 
Senior Jiles Addison delivered a championship performance at the 2026 Metropolitan Championships, capturing the triple jump title with a mark of 14.32 meters at Icahn Stadium. The defending MAAC indoor triple jump champion topped a 10-athlete field, outdistanced the runner-up by nearly eight inches and recorded the second-longest triple jump mark in the MAAC during the 2026 outdoor season. Addison also contributed to Iona's winning 4x100-meter relay squad, joining Joshua Aceto, Jaylen Mozone and Cameron Washington to post a first-place time of 42.03, edging the field by .15 seconds.
 
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Gab Qureshi, Merrimack
Fr., Quebec, Canada
 
Gab Qureshi won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.69 and the 400 meter dash with time of 49.07 at the Merrimack Track Carnival.
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Maci Chapman, Merrimack
Sr., Tewksbury, MA, Tewksbury Memorial
 
Chapman ran the second-fastest 5000-meter race in program history (17:29.17), earning a first-place finish with a 51-second advantage over second place at the Merrimack Track Carnival.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Tyaja Thomas, Iona
Jr., Nanuet, NY, Paramus Catholic (NJ)
 
Junior Tyaja Thomas earned a win in the javelin at the 2026 Metropolitan Championships with a throw of 40.10 meters. Thomas successfully defended her METS Championship title, posted the longest javelin throw in the MAAC this week and the third-longest throw in the conference this season. The mark was also just three inches shy of her personal best and the distance she threw to win last year's title. Thomas also placed eighth in the discus with a mark of 34.36 meters. Her throw ranks 13th in the MAAC this season and was the third-best discus mark in the conference this week.
 
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Kendra Green, Rider
Fr., Easthampton, NJ, Rancocas Valley High School
 
Green won the shot put in the Princeton dual with a mark of 13.70m. It is the top mark in the MAAC by over 3 feet. She also finished 6th in the discus in 34.51m. 
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10, 2026, at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, MD, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University.
