Edison, NJ (Dec. 28, 2022) – Mount St. Mary’s Ethan Russell and Canisius’ Jane McCauley have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Soccer
Russell started all 17 games in goal for the Mountaineers' men's soccer, setting the single season record in saves with 88 stoppages. The record had stood for 19 years when Mark Murphy registered 86 in the 2003 campaign. The effort assisted the Mount in improving from a 3-15 record in 2021 to a 7-9-1 mark this past fall, earning wins against Canisius, Saint Peter's and Rider in MAAC play. Russell also made a season best 11 stops as the Mount recorded a monumental non-conference victory over UMBC on September 13th.

Women’s Basketball
In her first season at Canisius after transferring from Vermont, McCauley has appeared all 11 games this season, making five starts. The New Rochelle, N.Y., native has averaged 4.9 points and 0.9 rebounds per contest. McCauley is shooting 34.0 percent from 3-point range, knocking down a team-best 16 baskets from beyond the arc. She has reached double digits on two occasions, finishing with 11 points in matchup with Detroit Mercy (Nov. 13) and Little Three rival St. Bonaventure (Dec. 7).
