MAAC Announces 2023 Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Team

EDISON, NJ (Oct. 27, 2023) – A total of 86 student-athletes were named to the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Team, the MAAC announced today.
 
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Siena College led all MAAC schools with a conference-high 15 student-athletes named to the All-Academic Team. Right behind the Saints were Marist College and Iona University, placing 14 and 13 honorees on the team, respectively. Canisius University followed with 11 selections, while Rider University placed nine on the team. Rounding out the All-Academic team were Manhattan College (7), Quinnipiac University and Mount St. Mary’s University with five apiece, Fairfield University (4), Niagara University (2), and Saint Peter’s University (1).

The 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The 2023 championships will be the first time the races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm and the meets will be hosted by Manhattan College for the 29th time. With 11 institutions strongly bound by the sound principles of quality and integrity in academics and excellence in athletics, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) is in its 43rd year of competition during the 2023-24 academic year. Current conference members include: Canisius University, Fairfield University, Iona University, Manhattan College, Marist College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter’s University, and Siena College. Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University will join the MAAC as full members in the 2024-25 academic year, expanding the conference to 13 institutions.
