NEW YORK, NY (Feb. 18, 2023) – Day one of the 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded with both Rider University’s men’s and women’s programs on top of the team leaderboards with 65 and 60 points, respectively.

17 student-athletes, competing in 11 different events, were crowned MAAC Champions on day one of the 2023 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Rider led the field with 10 total team medals, collecting one gold, five silver, and four bronze, while Quinnipiac paced all other MAAC schools with three gold medals on the opening day, followed by Iona, Manhattan and Siena who collected two gold medals each.
The Broncs’ lone first place finish of the evening came by way of the men’s long jump, with Zach Manorowitz jumping a field-best 7.23 meters.
Two of the Bobcats gold medals came in field events, with the pair of Erin Brennan and Olaitan Olagundoye claiming the top spots in the women’s pole vault and women’s high jump, respectively.
The Gaels grab their two top-place finishes when Kedarjah Lewis jumped 6.01 meters to win the women’s long jump, followed by Jamie Dee finishing the 5000 meter in a MAAC record time of 13:56.92.
The Jaspers swept the weight throws, led by RJ Decker defending his MAAC crown, securing his second straight gold medal in the men’s weight throw, with a toss of 19.95 meters and on the women’s side, Kristin Stickdorn became MAAC champion with a throw of 17.58 meters.
The Saints won both distance medley relays to secure a pair of gold medals. On the women’s side, Delia McDade Clay, Claire Gardner, Keira Flaherty, and Olivia Lomascolo set a new MAAC standard, crossing the finish line in a record time of 11:39.36, while the men’s quartet of Killian McNamee, Ryan Famiglietti, Matthew Laframboise, and Brandon Olden finished in 10:00.21 to lead the field.

- Jamie Dee of Iona shattered his own men’s 5000 meter record with a finishing time of 13:56.92, improving on his previous record time of 14:02.30 by six seconds, which he set last year in 2022.
- Siena’s women’s relay team of Delia McDade Clay, Claire Gardner, Keira Flaherty, and Olivia Lomascolo broke the women’s distance medley relay record with a time of 11:39.36 (Iona, 11:41.79, 2022)
