NEW YORK, NY (Feb. 19, 2023) – Rider University clinched the 2023 MAAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship at Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory on Sunday night. The Broncs never relinquished the lead following day one of the meet, finishing with a team score of 207, securing the program’s second indoor title, joining their 2017 trophy.

After claiming just one gold medal on the opening day of the meet, Rider snagged a trio of first place finishes on the final day of action, helping propel the Broncs to the team title. Rider’s first gold was secured by Jerome Boyer in the 400, when he topped the field with a finishing time of 48.47. In the 800, Tamrat Snyder ran a 1:49.71 to clinch the team’s second first place of the night. The Broncs third and final gold medal was garnered by Jayden DuBard, who tossed a MAAC-best 16.37 meters in the shot put.
MAAC runner-up and newcomer, Mount St. Mary’s, introduced themselves to the league in impressive style, winning four total golds on Sunday, to lead all teams. In track events, the Mount had Richard Gilchrist (60m hurdles) and Todd Charles (60m dash) both become MAAC champions, while Arran Fahey (pole vault) and Dylan LaNoue (triple jump) won titles in field events.
Iona matched Rider with three golds, ending their tournament with a third place finish. The Gaels clinched a pair of distance races, winning the mile (Damien Dilcher) and 3000 (Matt Rankin), while Jadyn Tabois became a back-to-back champion in the 200 in record fashion.

- Mount St. Mary’s Richard Gilchrist broke the MAAC record in the men’s 60 meter hurdles with a finishing time of 7.85, breaking the previous record by 0.07 (Jamel Presley, Saint Peter’s, 7.92, 2015).
- Iona’s Jadyn Tabois shattered the MAAC record in the men’s 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 21.02 to break the previous record by .43 (Khalid Slocum, Monmouth, 21.45, 2019)
