Edison, NJ (Mar. 15, 2023) – Mount St. Mary’s Jared McMahon and Canisius’ Emma Foote have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

A leader on and off the field, McMahon serves as a fifth-year captain for the Mountaineers. Over the first seven games, McMahon is the team's leader in goals (13), assists (4) and points (17) with a shot on-goal percentage of 78.4. Carrying over from last season, he held a point streak that lasted 26 games. Across 56 career games, McMahon has 88 points with 58 goals. A representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Jared is in the school's MBA program after graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business and a marketing concentration.

Women’s Lacrosse
Canisius senior defender Emme Foote is a key piece to the Golden Griffins’ defense, having started in 21-straight contests, dating back to the 2022 campaign. This season, she has a ground ball and a draw control to her credit, as the Griff’s boast a 3-2 record through the first five contests of the season. Off the field, Foote, a two-time MAAC All-Academic honoree as a finance major, recently was a part of a five-person team from the Canisius College Golden Griffin Fund (GGF) that secured first place in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Research Challenge of Western New York. Canisius College has dominated the CFA Research Challenge in Western New York since its inception in 2010 with this year's victory marking the 13th consecutive first-place finish for the College. The 2023 Canisius College Golden Griffin Fund team was made up entirely of Canisius student-athletes.
