POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist softball team is headed to Florida State for NCAA Regional play. The Red Foxes will open against the #3 overall seed Seminoles on Friday, May 19 at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
The regional includes Central Florida and South Carolina and utilizes a double-elimination format.
Marist has never faced Florida State and South Carolina. The Red Foxes are 0-3 all-time against Central Florida, with the previous meetings taking place in 2002, 2006, and 2014.
Friday, May 19
Game One: Marist at Florida State, 4 p.m.
Game Two: Central Florida vs. South Carolina, 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 20
Game Three: Game One winner vs. Game Two winner, 1 p.m.
Game Four: Game One loser vs. Game Two loser, 3:30 p.m.
Game Five: Game Four winner vs. Game Three loser, 6 p.m.
Sunday, May 21
Game Six: Game Three winner vs. Game Five winner, 4 p.m.
Game Seven (if necessary): Game Six winner vs. Game Six loser, 6:30 p.m.
The Marist softball team enters regional play with a record of 29-28. The Red Foxes won all four games as the #3 seed in last week's MAAC Championship, and earned their fourth NCAA Regional berth in program history.
