Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Colby Norton, Manhattan, Men’s Golf
Sr., Harwinton, CT, Lewis Mills HS
Colby Norton capped his senior campaign at the MAAC Championships. Norton shot a 74 (+2) for the Jaspers, placing him T4th individually for the tournament, with a total score of 214 (-2). Norton had 11 birdies and an eagle over the weekend, earning him a spot on the All-MAAC team. Norton's 54 hole score was the second best in Manhattan College history, as well as the best score a Jasper has ever recorded in the MAAC Championships. He's graduating in May with a degree in Business.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Maura Jordan, Canisius, Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Canisius Track & Field
Sr., Cleveland, Ohio, Saint Joseph Academy
A native of Cleveland, Ohio. Jordan, broke the 200m dash and 400m dash school records both in outdoor and indoor. Jordan also ran a leg on the women's DMR team that broke the indoor school record with a time of 11:59.90. At the SUNY Geneseo Invite, she broke the 100m dash outdoor record with a time of 12.48. Jordan is a finance major and is a part of a team from the Golden Griffin Fund that has been taking part in the CFA Challenge. In February the team won the WNY CFA Challenge to move onto the sub-regional round which they also won. They are now one of forty schools left in the competition moving onto the regional semifinals to face off against teams from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru; the University of Minnesota, Duluth; Dordt University; the University of Denver; and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
