EDISON, NJ (Jan. 15, 2025) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2025 Preseason Coaches’ Polls for men’s and women’s tennis, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Quinnipiac University was picked as the men’s preseason favorite and Fairfield University was chosen as the women’s preseason selection.
Quinnipiac garnered 76 points, with four first place votes to lead the men’s poll. The Bobcats enter the spring slate following a 14-11 overall year and 5-1 MAAC mark, finishing the 2024 regular season in second place and qualifying for their eighth straight MAAC postseason. Quinnipiac would go on to clinch its program’s first ever MAAC Championship title, knocking-off 2024 Regular Season Champion and top seeded Fairfield, 4-2 in the championship match. The title match appearance was the fourth overall for the Bobcats, their first since 2022.
2024 runner-up Fairfield, was tabbed second behind Quinnipiac, receiving 70 points and four first place votes. Siena College was picked third with 56 votes, while Niagara University (47) and Marist College (42) rounded out the top five.
Fairfield was the top choice in the women’s poll, earning a conference-high five first place votes and a total of 73 points. The Stags went undefeated in MAAC play in 2024, posting a perfect 6-0 league mark in the regular season, collecting the program's first MAAC regular season title in over a decade and the program’s fifth overall in its history. Fairfield posted a 12-9 overall record, winning the 2024 MAAC Championship, while also going 8-0 against conference opponents during the season including the postseason. The most successful women’s program in league postseason history, Fairfield has garnered a conference-leading 11 MAAC Championships, having won five titles in the 1990’s, three crowns in the 2000’s, and two in the 2010’s in addition to last season’s trophy.
2024 runner-up Quinnipiac, was picked second in the poll, receiving 71 points and two first place votes. Marist was voted third with 55 points, MAAC newcomer Sacred Heart University checked in at fourth place with 45 points and one first place vote, while Siena (43) rounded out the top five.

The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Tennis Championships are a six-team, single-elimination championships taking place on April 25-27 at Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ. The 2025 Championships will be the 13
