Marist’s Quartet of LaBianca, Gibbs, Dropic, Norton, and Rider’s Tripp Selected as Jersey Mike’s MAAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Award Winners

Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Jack LaBianca, Marist
Jr., Syosset, NY, Syosset Senior High School
 
Jack LaBianca posted a victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.00 as Marist earned a 176-120 victory at Colgate on Saturday. He also took part in two relays. In the 400 medley relay, he swam the anchor leg and had a team-best total split of 47.10 seconds as Marist placed third in 3:32.04. In the 200 freestyle relay, he posted a split of 22.23 as Marist finished fourth in 1:28.69.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Ethan Gibbs, Marist
Sr., Long Beach, CA, St. John Bosco High School
 
Ethan Gibbs placed third in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events in a 176-120 victory for Marist at Colgate on Saturday. Gibbs posted a 3-meter diving score of 253.28 and a 1-meter score of 251.55.
 
Rookie of the Week
Tyler Dropic, Marist
Fr., Union, KY, Villa Madonna Academy
 
Tyler Dropic competed in three events as Marist earned a 176-120 victory at Colgate on Saturday. He won the 200 butterfly in 1:55.22, finishing over four seconds ahead of his closest competitor. He completed the 100 butterfly in 53.52 for a second-place finish, just .77 seconds behind a teammate. He also swam in the 400 freestyle relay, which posted a time of 1:32.32 with Dropic's 22.8 split being the team's best.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week/Rookie of the Week
Donja Tripp, Rider
Fr., Bethlehem, PA, Notre Dame High School
 
Donja Tripp set a pair of Coppola Pool records, as part of four winning swims as the Broncs swept a tri-meet over Siena and Sacred Heart. In the 50-free, Tripp set a new pool record, swimming 23.57, the fastest 50-free by anyone in the conference this year. She then won the 100-free in 52.59, the fifth-fastest time among all athletes in the MAAC this season. She was also a part of the 200-medley relay team that won the event in 1:46.54 and the 400-free relay team that set the second pool record of the day, combining to swim 3:33.51.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Gabrielle Norton, Marist
So., Albany, NY, UNCW/Colonial Central
 
Gabrielle Norton won both boards for the Red Foxes at Colgate on Saturday. Norton posted a 1-meter score of 256.73 and a 3-meter score of 255.08.
 
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 11-14, 2026, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2026 will mark the third straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
