Men’s Swimmer of the Week

The Iona men’s swimming and diving team got a record-setting performance from sophomore Max Buchen, who touched first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.95. His effort broke the previous program record of 55.12, set in 2024 by Matthew Loftus ’25. He also captured first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:01.96. Iona’s Buchen continued his strong form in the pool vs Providence, capturing first place in the 200-Breaststroke with a time of 2:04.83.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Dylan Riccio, Iona
Sr., Harrison, NY, Archbishop Stepinac
Dylan Riccio turned in strong performances over the weekend, earning a pair of runner-up finishes against Holy Cross taking second place in the 3-meter event with a score of 265.27 and second on the 1-meter board with a 262.72. In the following meet versus Providence he earned a 150.55 in the 1-meter and 139.90 on the 3-meter both scores good for a first place.
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Andrew Nathe, Fairfield
Fr., Sagamore Beach, MA, Sturgis Charter
Andrew Nathe picked up two individuals wins and a relay win in addition to swimming a fourth event in Fairfield meet against Marist. Individually, Nathe secured the best time in both the 50 free (23.34) as well as the 100 free (51.65). He was part of the 400 free relay (3:25.81) and the 200 medley relay that finished second (1:43.14).
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Natalie Killion, Niagara
Jr., Lockport, NY, Lockport
Natalie Killion had a dominant weekend winning all four of her races. She claimed victory in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.87, a new Kiernan Center Pool Record. In the 200 Backstroke she touched first with a time of 2:00.84. Killion also played a pivotal part in the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays first place finishes. Her Backstroke leadoff leg of 26.03 set a new Pool Record, while her 100 free split of 52.29 was the fastest in the field Saturday. All of Natalie's backstroke swims from Saturday established MAAC Conference leading times for the season.
Women’s Diver of the Week
Lillian Tonole, Fairfield
Jr., Lunenburg, MA, The Bromfield School
Lillian Tonole swept the diving events in Fairfield's meet against Marist last weekend. She opened by taking first place with 202.13 points in the 1 meter before winning the 3 meter event with 212.25.
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Katie Torrey, Fairfield
Fr., Haymarket, VA, St. Paul
Katie Torrey secured two individual wins and a relay win in the Stags meet with Marist last weekend. She opened the day by starting off the winning 200 medley relay team as the Stags won the event with a time of 1:55.46. Individually, she returned to the pool to take first in the 100 back (1:03.12) and the 200 back (2:14.35). She also participated in the 200 IM, finishing fourth with a time of 2:24.30.
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 11-14, 2026, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2026 will mark the third straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
