EDISON, NJ (Aug. 14, 2025) – The 2025 women’s soccer season begins today for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) squads. Seven out of the 13 MAAC teams will be in action today and 12 total teams will take the pitch during opening weekend.
Three of contests on Thursday’s slate will feature MAAC home games. Siena University will be the first league unit in action, getting the season officially underway with a 4:00 p.m. first kick at home in Loudonville, NY against Lafayette. A quartet of games start at 6:00 p.m. headlined by defending MAAC Champion and preseason favorites, Fairfield University visiting Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and 2024 semifinalists, Canisius University hosting crosstown rival Buffalo. Opening day will close out in primetime at 7:00 p.m. with two MAAC teams in action, which include Merrimack College welcoming Vermont to North Andover, MA and Iona University traveling to Philadelphia to take on Temple.
Manhattan University and Marist University are the two lone teams in action on Friday, August 15. The Jaspers will play host to LIU in Riverdale, NY at 5:00 p.m. and the Red Foxes will head to Fordham for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
Opening weekend concludes on Sunday with 10 total matches on the docket, four of which are home tilts. Highlighting the four home matches are Manhattan taking on Army at 10:30 a.m., Sacred Heart University hosting Vermont at noon, and at 4:00 p.m., Iona hosts Le Moyne and Merrimack hosts UMass Lowell.

The 2025 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 2-9, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 2, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 6, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 9.
