The Quinnipiac Duo of Cupo and Young, and Siena’s Burns Pick Up Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Morgan Cupo had her best game of the season so far in Quinnipiac's 5-1 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday in Hamden. Cupo returned home in a big way, scoring two goals in the five-goal outburst for the Bobcats. Cupo got the scoring started for the Bobcats with her strike in the 12th minute and added on another goal in the 56th minute to make it a 4-0 game at the time. 
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Cate Burns, Siena

Cate Burns made 11 total saves, posted a .917 save percentage and accrued a 0.50 goals against average to lead Siena to a perfect 2-0 week. The sophomore made seven saves Wednesday night as the Saints secured a 2-1 victory in their non-conference finale at Vermont. Burns then made all four of her saves during the second half of a 3-0 triumph over Niagara Saturday to lead the Saints to their first MAAC win of the season. She secured her fourth clean sheet of the campaign, thwarting a Purple Eagles offense which had entered play ranked second in the conference in scoring (2.17).
 
Rookie of the Week
Ava Young, Quinnipiac

Ava Young had a game to remember for the Bobcats in their 5-1 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday in Hamden. Young recorded her first assist of her collegiate career on Klara Bengtsson's strike in the 42nd minute. Young followed up with her first collegiate goal in the 89th minute to make it a five-spot for the Bobcats.
 
The 2025 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 2-9, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 2, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 6, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 9.
