Eric Svensson, Siena, Men’s Soccer

The two-time MAAC All-Academic Team & three-time MAAC Academic Honor Roll member was also named to the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Honor Roll. Last season, he posted career-highs with 17 matches played, 16 starts, and 1,418 minutes. Svensson held a 3.64 term GPA in the spring of 2025 and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.52. He majors in psychology. The perennial starter has logged 234 minutes in three matches thus far in 2025 and has been reliable for head coach Graciano Brito.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Lizzy Harkness, Canisius, Women’s Soccer
Sr. / Bolton, England, Bolton
A native of Bolton, England, Harkness was named to the Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference squad after starting all 19 games for the Golden Griffins last season, recording a career-best three goals and one assist for seven points. The two-time All-MAAC Third Team honoree has started all four games this season, registering two shots in those contests. A dual major in finance and economics, Harkness is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree who has been named to the Dean’s List in all six of her semesters at Canisius.
