Canisius’ Forcucci and Iona’s Norton Claim Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Freshman Ella Forcucci led Canisius with 14 points (9 goals and five assists) as the Golden Griffins wont both of its games over the past week to remain perfect in the 2026 season. Forcucci tallied five goals and two assists in Wednesday's 19-12 win over Eastern Michigan before adding four goals and three assists in Saturday's 19-10 victory at Akron. Forcucci has started her collegiate career with four consecutive hat tricks which marks a program record. The Orchard Park, N.Y. native is averaging 4.25 goals per game which ranks ninth in the nation and leads all freshman in the NCAA.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Calen Norton, Iona
Jr., Edgewater, MD, South River
 
Calen Norton turned in a strong all-around week, contributing on both ends of the field in matchups against Vermont and Lehigh. Against Vermont, she recorded one goal, four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and four draw controls, then followed up versus Lehigh with another goal, two ground balls, three caused turnovers, and four draw controls.


The 2026 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place April 26 - May 3, 2026. The first round will be hosted by the #3 and #4 seeds, and the semifinals and championship will be hosted by the top overall seed.
