Freshman Brian Yeager delivered another standout performance as the Peacocks’ lone gold medalist at the Metropolitan Championships, winning the 800m as the only runner in the field to dip under 1:54. Yeager stopped the clock at 1:53.95, shaving nearly two seconds off his previous personal best and the team’s season-best mark. His time ranks third all-time in Saint Peter’s program history. Yeager has now finished in the top three in every 800m race this season, earning his second first-place finish in the event. He also anchored the men’s 4x400 relay to a silver medal, helping the quartet post a time of 3:16.71 – the fourth-fastest mark in program history.
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Damere Lassiter, Rider
So., Glassboro, NJ, Glassboro
Lassiter threw 16.00 meters in the shot put, which is the #6 mark all-time at Rider at the Penn Invitational. It is the #1 mark in the MAAC and also an IC4A qualifying mark. Lassiter also threw 16.04 meters in the weight throw.
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Izzie Anzaldo, Quinnipiac
Sr., Franklin Lakes, NJ, Ramapo High School
Anzaldo recorded a top 10 Quinnipiac performance on Friday as the Bobcats women's track and field program competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, held at Boston University. Anzaldo sprinted the fastest time in the MAAC this season and fourth-best time in QU history in the 400m, finishing in 55.55.
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Jenna Engels, Sacred Heart
Gr., Piscataway, NJ, Piscataway
Engels broke the then Sacred Heart school record of 3.70 meters in the pole vault on January 18 with a 3.75 meter bar clearance and she did it again on January 24 with a 3.80 meter jump. Competing on Saturday, in the invitational section of women's pole vault in the Harvard University Invitational, Engels tied her recent record with another 3.80 meter (12' 5 ½") jump. The graduate student's performance was good for a third place finish in the meet, as she currently sits in a three-way tie atop the MAAC standings. Engels has also easily surpassed the automatic ECAC qualifying standard 3.66 meters each of the past three weekends.
Women’s Rookie of the Week
Alivia Schweibinz, Sacred Heart
FY., Manalapan, NJ, Manalapan
Schweibinz was the collegiate winner of the 3000 meters on Saturday in the Harvard University Invitational, recording a new personal best of 10:03.62. The rookie placed 2nd in a total field of 56 entries, losing only to a post collegiate club runner. Scheibinz's time ranks her 5th overall in the MAAC standings, and she tops all first-year athletes in the event. She also inched closer to the automatic ECAC qualifying standard of 9:55.00 with her performance.
The 2026 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-22, 2026, at the Nike Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York, New York. The two-day meet will be hosted by Manhattan University and will be held at The Armory for the 22
