LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (Apr. 23, 2026) –The final round of the 2026 MAAC Women’s Golf Championship delivered a competitive finish at Disney’s Magnolia Course, as Quinnipiac University held on to claim the team title with a three-day total of 885 (+21).
Despite carding a 12-over team score in the final round, Quinnipiac’s consistency across all three rounds (299-286-300) proved to be the difference, securing the program’s back-to-back championship victory. Fairfield University finished runner-up at 888 (+24), closing with a strong 7-over round, while UAlbany surged on the final day with the lowest team score of the round (284, -4) to secure third place at +28 overall.
Reigning McLeod Trophy winner Sophia Fujita led Quinnipiac to victory, capturing medalist honors with a three-round total of 212 (-4). Fujita closed with a 2-under 70 in the final round. Fairfield’s Grace Windfelder delivered a strong and steady performance, finishing second at 213 (-3), while UAlbany’s Mia Cepeda placed fourth at +1 after carding a 2-under round on the final day. UAlbany also saw a strong showing from Thantita Aungsuseewong, who finished fifth overall at +4, highlighting the team’s late push up the leaderboard.
The final round featured some of the lowest scores of the tournament, led by multiple players shooting under par. Fujita, Windfelder, and Cepeda each carded rounds of 70 (-2), while UAlbany’s lineup fueled the team’s surge with consistent scoring throughout the day. Merrimack’s June Doerr also stood out with a 1-under 71, helping her team maintain a top-five finish.
