LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (Apr. 29 2026) – Iona is in firm control heading into the final round of the 2026 MAAC Men’s Golf Championship after a strong second-round performance at Disney’s Magnolia Course.
The Gaels fired a 2-under 286 on Wednesday to sit atop leaderboard, building a two-shot lead over Sacred Heart, who sits at even par (288). Siena holds third at +3 (291), followed by Fairfield (+6) and Manhattan (+13). Mount St. Mary’s and Niagara round out the middle of the pack, while Merrimack, Saint Peter’s, Rider, and Canisius will look to make a final-day push from behind.
Individually, Siena’s KC Nickel leads the field after an impressive 3-under 69, the low round of the day among the leaders. Iona is well represented near the top, with Jennings Oelke and Connor Henderson both carding 2-under 70s to stay within striking distance. Sacred Heart’s Sho Suzuki made the biggest move of the day, posting a tournament-low 5-under 67 to climb into a tie for 11th and give his team momentum heading into the final round. Fairfield’s Rasmus Ditzinger remains in contention after an even-par 72, while several players sit bunched just behind the leaders, setting up a tight race.
With multiple teams and individuals still within reach, Thursday’s final round promises a competitive finish as Iona looks to hold off the field and capture the MAAC title.
