LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (Apr. 30 2026) – Iona took control when it mattered most, capturing the team title with a three-round total of 868 (+4). A steady opening round followed by a tournament-low 286 in Round 2 helped create separation, and they held on down the stretch despite a tougher final round. This marks the Gaels’ seventh MAAC Championship in program history. Their previous title came in 2021, capping a dominant stretch of three consecutive championships from 2018–2021 (with 2020 impacted by COVID-19). The program also achieved a three-peat from 2000–2002, further cementing its legacy of success.
Sacred Heart finished just four strokes back at 872 (+8), staying consistent across all three rounds and keeping the pressure on Iona throughout the final day. Siena claimed third at 880 (+16), while Fairfield (+24) and Mount St. Mary’s (+34) rounded out the top five.
On the individual side, Fairfield’s Rasmus Ditzinger, and McLeod Trophy winner, delivered the top performance of the tournament, finishing at 212 (-4). He set the tone early and stayed consistent across all three rounds to secure medalist honors. Siena placed two golfers near the top, with KC Nickel and Gavin Crowley tying for second at 214 (-2), showcasing strong depth for the Saints. Iona also had an impressive showing with multiple players in contention, including Connor Henderson (T-4, 216 E), Sean Richards, and Jennings Oelke (both T-6, 217 +1), helping fuel their team victory.
