LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (Apr. 28 2026) – Round 1 of the 2026 MAAC Men’s Golf Championship teed off Tuesday at Disney’s Magnolia Course, with a tightly contested leaderboard setting the stage for an exciting tournament.
Iona leads the field after the opening round, carding a team score of 289 (+1), holding a three-shot advantage over Siena (292, +4). Sacred Heart sits in third at 293 (+5), while Manhattan (296, +8) and a tie between Saint Peter’s and Fairfield (298, +10) round out the top five.
On the individual side, Siena’s KC Nickel leads the field after firing a 69 (-3) in Round 1. He is followed by a three-way tie for second at 70 (-2), featuring Manhattan’s Akshay Mandadapu, Iona’s Jennings Oelke, and Fairfield’s Rasmus Ditzinger. Merrimack’s Rafli Sati paced the Warriors with a strong opening round of 71 (-1), placing him fifth overall, while teammate Sean Roddy finished tied for 10th after shooting 73 (+1).
With just a few strokes separating much of the field, the championship remains wide open heading into Round 2 as teams look to climb the leaderboard and position themselves for a run at the title.
