Merrimack’s Andrews, Rider’s Poliey, and Iona’s Lang Announced as Northeast Beef MAAC Baseball Weekly Award Winners

Jack Andrew had an excellent weekend against Saint Peter's. The sophomore totaled seven hits, eight RBI, and four stolen bases. In the weekend opener, Andrews matched his career high in RBI with five. His four hit day came with one stolen base. The very next game, Andrews had another two hits and drove in three RBI. The Connecticut native swiped another two bags in the win. In the game three finale, Andrews added a hit, walk, and hit fourth stolen base of the weekend. 
 
Pitcher of the Week
Clayton Poliey, Rider
Sr., Ringwood, NJ, Don Bosco Prep
 
Poliey delivered a dominant performance in the rubber match at Quinnipiac, tossing the first complete game of his career to secure both the series finale and series win over the Bobcats. The senior worked all nine innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out two in the victory.
 
Rookie of the Week
Luke Lang, Iona
Fr., North Bellmore, NY, St. Dominic High School
 
Lang pitched a strong 8.0 innings against Siena. He struck out six batters, allowed six hits, and allowed only one run. Lang held batters to a .214 batting average.
 
The 2026 MAAC Baseball Championship is a six-team double elimination championship that will take place at Heritage Financial Park in Wappingers Falls, NY on May 20-23, 2026. This will be the 14th time that the championship is hosted at the ballpark (previously named Dutchess Stadium), the most in MAAC history.
