“It is an honor and privilege to have the annual Commissioner’s Cup award named after me,” said Ensor. “I want to thank Father Maher, Dr. Olian, and the rest of the MAAC Council of Presidents for this prestigious gesture. Knowing my name and legacy will forever be embedded into the highest achievement here at the MAAC is one I will forever be grateful for and reflects my life’s commitment to providing the MAAC membership and student-athletes with superior championship opportunities in all sports.”

“We are proud to name the Commissioner’s Cup to honor Rich’s lasting legacy of service to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference,” said Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., President of Niagara University and MAAC President. “For nearly 34 years, Rich Ensor has emphasized the importance of the student-athlete experience, while also maintaining a strategic focus on advocacy for the inclusion of women's sports, with women's basketball serving as a powerful example. His steady leadership has provided the conference with strength and stability during unstable times, and his guidance has laid the groundwork for the continued success of the conference.”
