Marist Wins 2024 MAAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, Ending 16-Year Title Drought

Geneva, OH (Feb. 17, 2024) – Marist College won the 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, on Saturday night.

The Red Foxes, which took over the lead on day two of the championship, never looked back, tallying 664 points to secure their first men’s title since 2008, ending Rider’s 11-year championship reign. The championship becomes trophy number 13 for Marist, making them the all-time winningest program in MAAC men’s swimming & diving history, breaking their tie with Rider at 12. Marist previously won eight straight MAAC crowns from 1996 through 2003, and four in a row from 2005 to 2008.

Marist was led on the final night with a pair of gold medals won by sophomore Kevin McNamara. McNamara began the evening with a first place finish in the Men's 1650 Free, recording a 15:46.60 winning time. In addition to McNamara, the Red Foxes took spots 2-5, with Jack LaBianca, Adam Zaremba, James Conable, and Oscar Bjering joining their teammate on the podium.
