Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week

Aidan Schnapf picked up a pair of individual wins and was part of a winning relay team, setting school records in each of those events, as the men's team edged UMass in a dual meet on Saturday. He opened with a program-best time of 1:50.23 in the 200 free, and followed up with his record-setting performance of 2:02.14 in the 200 back. He closed out the 400 free relay, helping the Stags take the top spot in the event based on its time of 3:24.55.

Lance Cruz put together a triple-win day for the Purple Eagles in their narrow team victory. The junior kicked off his meet by swimming a leg on the runner-up 200 medley relay (1:34.79) before claiming victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.12, splitting 23.39/26.73. He dominated the 100-yard breaststroke as well, winning by nearly half a second in 55.88. Cruz's performance proved crucial in Niagara's slim 147-146 team victory over the Dolphins.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Andrew Cataldo, Fairfield
So., Albany, NY, The Albany Academy
 
Andrew Cataldo placed third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events as the Stags defeated UMass in a dual meet last weekend. He scored team-highs in both events, posting 259.80 points in the 3-meter before closing out the day with 288.15 points in the 1-meter which was just six points off the runner-up position.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Erini Pappas, Fairfield
Sr., Phoenixville, Pa., Phoenixville Arae
 
Erini Pappas established two school records and was part of another program-best in the 200 medley relay against UMass last weekend. In her first event, Pappas helped the relay team set a school standard with a time of 1:55.11 in the 200 medley relay. She returned to the water for three more events, breaking the school record and taking first place in both the 200 back (2:16.12) and the 200 IM (2:19.48). Pappas also competed in the 100 back, touching the wall third with a time of 1:03.26. 
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Lola Barrett, Sacred Heart
Sr.,  Wakefield, Mass., Wakefield Memorial
 
Barrett had another strong performance this week in a loss to Holy Cross. The senior finished second on both the 1M and 3M dive with scores of 278.60 and 276.80, respectively.
 
 
The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 12-15, 2025, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2025 will mark the second straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
