Fairfield’s Cataldo and Stewart, Niagara’s Killion and Siena’s Murray Earn Jersey Mike’s MAAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Joseph Stewart, Fairfield

Joseph Stewart picked up two individual wins and was part of a second-place relay in Fairfield's weekend tri-meet with Boston University and Colgate. He opened the day with a first-place finish in the 200 free, posting a time of 1:42.18. He followed up with the top spot in the 100 free, completing the distance in 46.39. His final event of the day came in the 200 free relay, helping the team take second with a time of 1:25.42.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Andrew Cataldo, Fairfield

Andrew Cataldo picked up two of the two team's 13 first-place finishes, in the Boston University/Colgate meet sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. The sophomore earned a NCAA zone cut with his performance on the 1-meter board, tallying 304.70 points which was the only total to surpass 300 points in the event. He completed the sweep by posting 276.10 points in the 3-meter dive, winning the event by nearly 20 points.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Natalie Killion, Niagara
So., Lockport, NY
 
Natalie Killion put together an impressive meet for Niagara, showcasing her dominance in backstroke events. The 19-year-old captured victories in both the 100 backstroke (56.10) and 200 backstroke (2:04.77), demonstrating excellent pacing and technique throughout both races. Killion also proved to be a valuable relay contributor, leading off Niagara's winning A team in the 200 medley relay with a swift 26.55 split.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Sydney Murray, Siena
So., Avon, NY, Avon
 
Sydney Murray took first place on the 1m board with a personal best score of 201.38. She also placed second on the 3m board scoring 203.18. 
 
 
The 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 12-15, 2025, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2025 will mark the second straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
