Men’s Runner of the Week
Braden York, Niagara

Niagara graduate student Braden York finished first overall in the men's 5k at the Little Three Championship, becoming the first Purple Eagle to win the event in at least the last 15 years. York crossed the finish line with a time of 15:27.26, over five seconds ahead of the St. Bonaventure runner-up. His efforts led the Niagara’s men's team to a third place team finish overall.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Kayla Schmidt, Canisius
Sr., Williamsville, NY, Williamsville South
Senior Kayla Schmidt paced the Canisius women's cross country team as the overall individual winner of the Little Three Championships, Friday at Beaver Island in Grand Island, N.Y. Schmidt won the women's 5K with a time of 18:30.1 to lead all runners. As a team, Canisius finished with a team total of 32 points, 14 in front of St. Bonaventure (46) and 19 ahead of Niagara (51), capturing its 18th Little Three women's team title in the last 20 championships.
The 2024 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, New York on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The men’s 8k race will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the women’s 6k race will follow at 12:00 p.m. 2024 will mark the second straight year that the championship races will be held at Twin Ponds on the Farm and the meets will be hosted by Manhattan University for the 30th time.
