Fairfield Secures the 2026 MAAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship, its Program’s First MAAC Title, Powered by Northeast Beef

GENEVA, OH (Feb. 14, 2026) – The Fairfield University Stags made program history on Saturday night, capturing the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. The Stags scored 1341.83 points over the four day meet, en route to the program’s first ever MAAC Championship crown.
 
With Fairfield also winning the 2026 MAAC Women’s Swimming & Diving team title, the Stags became the second straight program – sixth overall – in league history to sweep both team titles.
 
The Stags, which took over first place on day two of the championship, never relinquished the lead once taking it over, despite winning no gold medals on the final night. Fairfield capped off its championship run by scoring 481 points on Saturday, headlined by a pair of silver medalists in Cormac Rouse in the 100 Free and Andrew Cataldo in the 1-Meter Dive. In total, the Stags had 12 podium finishers on the night and earned a fourth place finish in the 400 Free Relay.
 
Individual gold medal winners on the final night of action included Iona’s Kieran Egan (100 Free), the Marist duo of Oscar Bjering (1650 Free) and Dylan Magda (200 Breast), Niagara’s pair of Vilem Mikula (200 Back) and Ethan Hunter (200 Fly), and Rider’s Stavros Xantheas (1-Meter Dive). Additionally, Iona three-peated in the 400 Free Relay.
