Manhattan’s Fagerberg and Målberg, Canisius’ Leslie Win MAAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
William Fagerberg, Manhattan

William Fagerberg spearheaded the attack for Manhattan, logging all three scores at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon in the three-nil clean sheet. Additionally, he added five shots in 85 minutes on the pitch. With the Jaspers recording a three match result streak to open the month of October (2-0-1), Fagerberg has logged a combined four goals in the last three matches.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Ludvig Målberg, Manhattan
Sr., Ulricehamn, Sweden, Marquette/Tingsholmgymnasiet
 
Ludvig Målberg posted his second and third clean sheets in the last two matches against Merrimack and Mount St. Mary's, respectively. Against the Mount, Malberg logged six saves on 12 shots faced, while surrendering zero goals to the Mountaineers. Malberg sits second in the MAAC in saves per match, averaging 5.20.
 
Rookie of the Week
Gabriel Leslie, Canisius
Fr., St. Cloud, FL, Harmony High School
 
Freshman Gabriel Leslie scored the game-winning goal to lift Canisius to a 2-1 victory over Quinnipiac. Leslie scored the tally in the 38th minute to secure the win. It was his third goal of the season.
 
The 2025 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 9-16, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 9, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 13, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 16.
