Niagara’s Talsma, Fairfield’s Nikolov & Olanrewaju Capture MAAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Jeremy Talsma, Niagara

Jeremy Talsma recorded four points in a 3-0 shutout win against Saint Peter's over the weekend. Talsma scored one goal and dished out two assists in the victory. Talsma became the first Purple Eagle player this season to record four points in a game and the first to do so in over a year.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Viktor Nikolov, Fairfield

In Fairfield's lone game last week, Viktor Nikolov picked up a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary's last week by making three second half saves. Two of his saves came in the final 10 minutes to keep the shutout intact. The performance was Nikolov's second straight shutout since joining the starting lineup three games ago.
 
Rookie of the Week
Pipeloore Olanrewaju, Fairfield
Fr., Linden, NJ, Linden
 
Pipeloore Olanrewaju scored the second goal of Fairfield's 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary's last Saturday, the Stags' only game of the week. He took a cross an one-timed a shot to the upper corner to give a cushion to the Stags in the 48th minute. The goal was Olanrewaju's fourth of the season, giving him nine points on the season.
 
The 2025 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 9-16, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 9, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 13, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 16.
