Fairfield’s Duo of Theriault and Zaun, Iona’s Kalbaugh, Win Jersey Mike’s MAAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Maddy Theriault, Fairfield

Maddy Theriault tallied five points on two goals and one assist in Fairfield's 2-0 week, helping the Stags clinch a postseason berth. Theriault scored one goal in a 6-0 clean sheet win for Fairfield over Rider on Wednesday. On Saturday, in a 4-2 win for the Stags over Manhattan, she scored one goal and dished out an assist.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kayla Kalbaugh, Iona

Sophomore Kayla Kalbaugh had a standout performance in goal for the Iona University women’s soccer team this past week. The Pleasant Valley, NY native posted her second straight shutout for the Gaels in the 1-0 victory at Sacred Heart. Kalbaugh made six first half saves and three second half stops on the way to a career-high nine saves over the Pioneers.
 
Rookie of the Week
Payton Zaun, Fairfield
Fr., Bernardsville, NJ, Bernards
 
Payton Zaun scored a goal in both of Fairfield's wins last week, helping the Stags clinch a postseason berth. Against Rider on Wednesday in a 6-0 shutout win, she scored an unassisted goal. Then on Saturday against Manhattan, she scored the game winning goal in a 4-2 victory.
 
The 2025 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship is a six-team, single-elimination championship taking place November 2-9, 2025. Each match during the championship will be hosted by the higher seed and all rounds of the championship will reseed. The first round will take place on Sunday, November 2, followed by the semifinals on Thursday, November 6, and concluding with the championship final on Sunday, November 9.
