Kieran Egan delivered a standout performance at Iona’s Homecoming meet, helping lead the Gaels to victory. Egan was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay squad that posted a MAAC-best time of 3:04.72, and added two individual wins with a 20.93 in the 50 freestyle and a 1:51.17 in the 200 backstroke.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Stavros Xantheas, Rider
Jr., West Orange, NJ, West Orange
Stavros Xantheas won the 1-meter with a score of 272.85 and was second on the 3-meter behind only teammate Steven Figueroa, scoring 255.23 on the 3-meter in Rider's dual meet against Lehigh.
Men’s Rookie of the Week
Andrew Nathe, Fairfield
Fr., Sagamore Beach, MA, Sturgis Charter
Andrew Nathe contributed points with a pair of top two finishes as well as first-place swim with the 200 free relay team as the Stags' defeated Providence in a dual meet. He earned the top time in the 200 free by touching the wall in 1:56.54. Next up, Nathe garnered second place in the 400 free with a time of 4:15.58. He capped his day as a member of the first-place 200 free relay team which posted a time of 1:35.48.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Daphne Mead, Canisius
So., Baltimore, MD, Dulaney High School
Canisius sophomore swimmer Daphne Mead won a pair of individual races and was a part of a winning relay team as the Golden Griffins took part in a tri-meet against the University of Rochester and Siena.
Mead helped the Griffs' 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish in event's first race. The Baltimore, Md., native won multiple individual events for the second weekend in a row, as she touched the wall first in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM. Her time of 2:06.25 in the 200 backstroke was not only 5.21 seconds faster than the next closest swimmer, but it also set a new pool record at Rochester's Speegle-Wilbraham Aquatic Center. She also set a new pool record in the 200-yard IM with her time of 2:07.10, a time that was 5.39 seconds faster than the race's second-place finisher.
Women’s Diver of the Week
Ryleigh Mahoney, Sacred Heart
FY., Salem, NH, Salem
Ryleigh Mahoney came in first place in both 1-meter and 3-meter dives last week in dual meets against Iona and Wagner. She won the 3-meter with a season best score of 265.70. She captured the 1-meter dive win with a score of 261.50, just 4.5 points off Division I NCAA Zone Qualifiers.
Rookie of the Week
Natasha De Pree, Fairfield
Fr., Somerset, England, Millfield Futures
Natasha De Pree swept three individual events and contributed to the 200 free relay team's victory as the Stags defeated Providence College in a dual meet. She opened with the top time in the 200 free by clocking at 2:08.41. She returned to the pool for first-place swims in the 100 free (59.74) and the 400 free (4:30.85). Later, De Pree helped the 200 free relay record the best time at 1:50.34.
The 2026 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships is a four-day meet that will take place February 11-14, 2026, and will be hosted at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. 2026 will mark the third straight year the championships are hosted at SPIRE.
