Fairfield’s Walker and Saint Peter’s Robinson Named Bob McCloskey Insurance MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Saint Peter's swimmer Patch Robinson has had a dominant start to his rookie campaign, being named Jersey Mike's MAAC Rookie of the Week in back-to-back weeks after another strong showing at Sacred Heart's Friendsgiving Duals. He became the first male swimmer in program history to win back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors and the first Peacock to win consecutive MAAC accolades overall since 2014. Robinson delivered another strong performance over the weekend, earning three podium finishes across his events. He opened the meet with a silver medal in the 1000-yard freestyle, posting a time of 9:58.68, and added another silver in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.17. He also contributed to a bronze finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, helping the Peacocks secure third in 1:31.42. Robinson has recorded 10 podium finishes across 19 total events through the first four meets this season – including 10 podiums in 12 events during November alone. Against conference opponents, he has been even sharper, posting seven podium finishes through nine MAAC events. He has also set Saint Peter's program records in the 500-meter freestyle with a time of 4:43.72 and in the 1650-meter freestyle with a time of 16:25.27.

Maya Walker, Fairfield, Volleyball

Maya Walker concluded an outstanding career with Fairfield Volleyball with five kills (.500) and a block in the Stags' NCAA Championship First Round clash at #17 Minnesota. Walker was an All-MAAC First Team selection this season for the second time in her career, and also earned her second All-Championship Team selection. Walker led the MAAC and ranks 17th nationally with a .417 hitting percentage. Her 126 blocks this fall tied for sixth in Fairfield history. Walker completed her career ranked third in Fairfield history with a .357 hitting percentage and second all-time with 432 career blocks. Walker was a part of three MAAC Championship teams (2023-25) and four MAAC Regular Season Championships (2022-25). She and her classmates tied the MAAC record with 67 career wins in the MAAC regular season. A tri-captain of the Stags, Walker owns a 3.81 cumulative GPA as a Behavioral Neuroscience major with minors in Health Studies and Spanish.
