LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (April 17, 2025) – The 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Golf Championship opening round concluded with Quinnipiac women and Sacred Heart and Rider men leading the standings.
Quinnipiac women finished with a score of +7, holding an eight-stroke lead over the second-place team. Bobcat first year Sophia Fujita leads the women with -4 on the day. She shot even on 14 holes and one under on four holes resulting in a the top score of the day. Right behind Fujita, UAlbany’s Mia Cepeda finished the day -1, and Fairfield’s Grace Windfelder and Merrimack’s June Doer both shot even par, tying for third.
Both Sacred Heart and Rider finished -5 on the men’s side, securing the top spot heading into round two. Fairfield’s Tadgh Burke and The Mount’s Martin Hurtado finished first individually with -5.

The 2025 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships return to Disney’s Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL from April 17-29. The 2025 championships will mark the 14
th consecutive season the championships are hosted at Disney’s Golf Course dating back to 2011, and the 23
