LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL (April 19, 2025) – The 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Golf Championship finished on Saturday from Disney’s Magnolia course with the Fairfield Stags claiming the MAAC title for the first time since 1997.
The tournament was closely contested, with Fairfield ultimately emerging as the team champion, finishing with a total score of 862 (-2). Sacred Heart followed closely in second place with a score of 864 (E), and Iona finished third with a score of 867 (+3).
The individual competition was also a highlight, with Tadgh Burke from Fairfield winning the McLeod Trophy with a total score of 210 (-5). Aaron Sorkin from Mount St. Mary's finished just one stroke behind at 211 (-5), and Ethan Phillips from Sacred Heart took third place with a score of 212 (-4).
The final holes of the championship were filled with excitement, as teams and individual players battled for the top spots. Fairfield’s Peter Crowe and Sacred Heart’s Mike Rothberg came up big with a birdie on 18 to stir up the excitement right to the end.
