Needing to win out, Quinnipiac answered shortly after with a win at #3 by Anagha Shankar when she defeated Sarah Liu, 6-4 6-4. The remaining two singles matches, would need to go three sets. Fairfield took the first set in both matches but at the #4 position, Vera Sekerina battled back to beat Nicolette Loeffler, 2-6 6-3 6-1, propelling Quinnipiac to 3-3 tie with only the #1 singles still in play. At the topflight, Fairfield’s Victoria Mandma edged 2025 MAAC Player and Rookie of the Year, Quinnipiac’s Willow Renton, 7-6 (7-5) in the first set. With the second set tied a 2-2, Renton went on an eight game rally, that gave her the second set victory (6-2) and put her ahead 4-0 to start the third set. Mandma responded, winning four straight games of her own to knot the set at 4-4, before Renton capped off the comeback by winning the final two games, securing the match and clinching the team championship for the Bobcats.

Quinnipiac improved to 12-8 overall on the season and finished a perfect 10-0 against league foes in 2025 following the two postseason wins. The win for the Bobcats also avenged last year’s championship loss to Fairfield, which stopped Quinnipiac’s three-peat attempt. This marked the fourth straight season that Quinnipiac and Fairfield battled for the MAAC Championship trophy, with the Bobcats winning three of the four (2022, 2023, 2025) and Fairfield winning one (2024).

Willow Renton was named as the 2025 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Performer.

Quinnipiac will earn the MAAC automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. The Stags will find out their opponent and match time on Monday, April 28 at 5:00 p.m. during the Division I Women’s Tennis Selection Show on NCAA.com.
