Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Kahil Singleton, Canisius, Men’s Basketball
Jr. / Vancouver, Wash. / Scotland Campus (Pa.)
Canisius junior Kahlil Singleton has started all 19 games played in his first season on the Golden Griffin men’s basketball roster. He leads the Griffs in scoring (13.6 points per game), thanks in large part to a three-point field goal percentage (.392) that ranks fourth in the MAAC and 68th in the nation. A native of Vancouver, Wash., Singleton was named an Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) on Jan. 6 after recording a combined 57 points in wins against MAAC foes Fairfield and Sacred Heart at the Koessler Athletic Center. He is one of two players in the nation to have a pair of 30-plus point games and a pair of games where he has knocked down eight-or more 3-pointers this season. Majoring in sociology, Singleton was named to the Dean's List in his first full semester at Canisius.
