EDISON, NJ (May 13, 2026) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), today announced the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year winners, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Mount St. Mary’s University head coach, Jay Phillips, was unanimously chosen as the MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. The MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field title for the Mount was the first in its program history since joining the league and the fifth overall for the school since joining the Division I ranks, previously winning championships in 1991, 1996, 1997, and 2018. Phillips garners his fourth career Coach of the Year award, but his first in the MAAC, previously winning the award three times while Mount St. Mary’s was a member of the NEC with one each for outdoor (2018), cross country (2018), and indoor (2019).

Quinnipiac University head coach, Carolyn Martin, was unanimously selected as the MAAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, capturing her third coach of the year honor of the academic year after also winning the award for cross country and indoor track & field. Martin is now a seven-time MAAC Coach of the Year, which includes five awards in cross country (2015, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), one in indoor (2026), and one in outdoor (2026). For her career, she has collected 10 total Coach of the Year accolades, also winning three NEC awards, with two in cross country (2009, 2011) and one in indoor (2012-13). Over the weekend, Martin led the Bobcats to the 2026 MAAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, the program’s first MAAC outdoor tittle in its history, after scoring a total of 164.25 points, topping host Mount St. Mary’s by 25.25 points during the two-day event.
