Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Scott Esposito, Marist, Baseball
RS-So./Katonah, NY, John Jay High School
Redshirt sophomore catcher Scott Esposito of the Marist University baseball team has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Male Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Bob McCloskey Insurance.
Esposito has been a leader on and off the field for the Red Foxes. He has started all 66 games in which he has appeared since arriving at Marist. As a redshirt freshman, he earned CSC Academic All-District and MAAC All-Academic Team honors for his success in the classroom.
This season, Esposito has been a staple behind the plate, starting 30 of Marist’s 49 games while posting a .983 fielding percentage. Offensively, he is hitting .327 with 13 RBIs for the Red Foxes.
In the classroom, Esposito, a finance major, has earned Dean’s List honors in all five semesters at Marist.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Samara Jones, Rider, Track and Field
Sr./ Baltimore, MD, Western Tech High School
Jones set a Rider record in the triple jump at the MAAC Championships, posting a mark of 12.35 meters in her final collegiate meet. The senior also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.88 GPA.
