Male Student-Athlete of the Week
Brandon Falconer, Mount St. Mary’s, Track & Field
So./Black River, Jamaica
Falconer is set to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships East First Round for the javelin. The sophomore led a quartet of Mount javelin athletes who finished first through fourth at the MAAC Outdoor Track & Championships on May 9, earning a distance of 67.85 meters. His NCAA qualifying mark came a couple weeks earlier, where he threw for 68.56 meters at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Open. That distance ranks 20th in the NCAA East.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Sophia Waliszewski, Niagara, Track & Field
Fr./Lockport, NY
Waliszweski placed second and achieved personal best 14.45 in the 100m hurdles at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic. Ran fastest 400m hurdles time of 1:08.34 at the UB Alumni Invitational, placing 10th. Finished 12th in the 400m hurdles at the MAAC Championship with a time of 1:08.96. Sophia is majoring in finance.
