Edison, NJ (Jan. 25, 2023) – Niagara’s Sam Iorio and Saint Peter’s Natalie Davis have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Sam Iorio is coming off his best MAAC weekend, scoring a season-high 15 points in both Niagara games in the Garden State. The Purple Eagle scored almost exclusively from 3-point land at Rider on Friday night, hitting a season-best four triples. On Sunday against SPU, the veteran went 4-for-9 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, a 5-for-6 mark at the line, and team-best eight boards. On the week, Iorio finished with 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 57.1 percent from the floor, 75.0 percent from 3-point land, and 80.0 percent at the line. In the classroom, Iorio finished the fall semester with a 3.0 GPA.

Women’s Swimming & Diving
Graduate Student Natalie Davis shined for the Saint Peter's Women's Swimming & Diving team this past weekend against former MAAC foe Monmouth. In West Long Branch, Davis once again showed her dominance in the 200 events, as she's done throughout the entirety of her collegiate career. This past Saturday, she took a first-place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 2:00.35 and a second-place finish in the 200 Back with a time of 2:10.15.
