MAAC Announces Two-Year Extension For Golf Championships at Walt Disney World

Edison, NJ (June 8, 2023) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announces that the 2024 and 2025 MAAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships will continue to be held at Walt Disney World.

The MAAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships first arrived at Disney in 2000, when the championships were held at the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Since 2000, a total of 21 MAAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships have been played on a golf course at Disney. Of all the courses at Disney, the Magnolia Golf Course has been the site for the most MAAC Championships (14).

This year's MAAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships took place April 21-23 at Walt Disney World's Palm Golf Course for the first time since 2014, after previously being held for seven consecutive years at Walt Disney World's Magnolia Golf Course.

"We are thrilled to continue the wonderful partnership between Disney and the MAAC that Rich Ensor and his staff worked tirelessly to implement," said MAAC Women's Golf Committee chair, Angie Jabir. "The opportunity for our men's and women's golf teams to compete for a championship at such a unique and top-notch facility is rare and we are grateful to Disney for providing such a memorable and professional experience for our student-athletes, coaches, families and spectators."

"Walt Disney World Golf has been proud to host the MAAC men's and ladies conference championships for almost two decades now, and we look forward to welcoming both players and coaches back again for play in 2024 and 2025," stated Alex Forsyth, Director of Sales and Marketing for Walt Disney World Golf. "By the time they arrive at here at "The Happiest Place on Turf!" in April each year, teams are always ready and eager to cap of their season with a win and qualify to compete in the NCAA regionals. It is always highly contested, and we appreciate the MAAC conference entrusting Walt Disney World® Golf to provide a quality golf experience where the most deserving of teams shall prevail as champions!"
