This past week, the SPU sophomore led the Peacocks in points and rebounds in two games. In Saint Peter’s game at Fairfield on Friday, Jan. 19, Washington scored 16 points, with eight rebounds, and one steal. Washington followed up with 24 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and two steals in Saint Peter’s 70-59 win over Canisius on Sunday, Jan. 21. The preseason All-MAAC honoree leads the Peacocks with 14.7 points per game, which is fifth in the MAAC.
Female Student-Athlete of the Week
Aaliyah Parker, Niagara, Women's Basketball
Jr., Cheektowaga, NY, Cardinal O'Hara
Aaliyah Parker enters this weekend needing just 13 points to reach 1,000 career points. Prior to this season she was named MAAC Preseason Player of the Year, it was the second time in Niagara program history that a Niagara player earned that honor. Last season she averaged 16.9 points per game along with 7.7 rebounds per game and 3.7 steals per game. This season she is averaging 11.5 points per game along with five rebounds per game. In the classroom she finished the fall semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a sports management major.
